all the stitches are in place.   There was some thought about stitching in that symbol of Essential Being…in the "sky",  but i don't think so.  tomorrow i'll look for a scrap that will  be a piece of sky.

the exchange here,  so intimate.   anything else would change that and it shouldn't be changed.

the sister cloth.  Now time for her.

i listened today to the conversation on Future Primitive… with Stephen Harrod  Buhner,  whose book

Plant Intelligence and the Imaginal Realm,  into the dreaming of the Earth

i have HERE,  right next to me,  at this table on a Hill in a Forest.  I always say that things are just beyond Great,  but really, really,  this conversation is Beyond Great,  beyond beyond Great.  It is Exactly IT.  Please take the time to listen.  It's about deep love,  about the deep love it takes to Listen to this Earth.

just some more.  From the storage.  Chairs.   I'd left so many behind,   but these two…the black one was Old Cowboy's mother's salvaged chair.  the bottom,  shored up with bailing wire  and then this other…it was a rocking chair but one of the rockers was broken so i took them off.  It's low now.  Emrie sized.  It's old.  Won't hold up in Winter Rain.

then a large garbage or leaf bag of sheets,  towels.  But on  the top,  the denim futon cover.  My attempt at squares and matching seams.   Hand stitched.  selvages folded back and stitched down. like Jude taught.  it's big.  there's almost 2 feet over the top of the fence.

Things are going on in Polvadera New Mex.  Complications.  Difficult things.   I resent the need to go BACK in time,  want so much to live in the present moment,  this Now.  There was a beauty Full pattypan squash today

Wanting to stay here still.   Realizing how much photographs can be enough.

i love everything here,  i love the place it is in.  Love.

it's the old chair from N Mex that Bill's father made.  Lee.  Bill's father.  I think we might have become lovers if the stars had been aligned.  Me and Lee.  Alz B's ex.

so the chair.  And on it the enamal pot with walnut  and a shell on top.  the old aluminum pot.  Both of these need to be brought over here to the Table.  for now.   because it's  where i am,  over here.

and then,  left to right,  a cloth person,  i don't remember what it was about her,  but she is for sure,  a cloth person.  A jar of old buttons,  no longer made.  Many of abalone.  If Emrie looked for such buttons she very well might not be able to find them.

and we get to this being.  in the picture frame.  a monkey.  There is a series of pics of her that i have written about here, somewhere.  From some old Found issue of a Natural History Publication.  I never remember….you'd think i'd write it down?

but double click her.  This is me.  When i first saw this photograph,  i knew her to be me.  and now,  years later,  so much more,  this is me.  Look at her.  What is her expression?  She is so WILLING,  so wanting.  Willing what?  Wanting what?  her small smile,  ?  I love her and as i love her,  i love my Self.  Unsure,  wide eyed,  willing,  wanting.  READY.

i was ready to go,  this morning,  at eight.  I'd had two teas.  Lots of thinking .  Ready.  Down to the Wall Garden,  gave water.  Came up to B ,  turned the water on there and came in.

let the hose run while i went through boxes of Stuff.   Letting the feelings flow,  like the water.  Went through some things…objects…went through a box of papers,  stuff i thought i might be required to produce,  ripped them in half and put into a big garbage bag.  Who cares?   I'll just say i don't know.  It might work.

Stuff….all my stuff.  When i went to the faucet to turn off the water,  i saw the smallest flower EVer,  just so small and so RED,  there,  just by the faucet  and i thought…..i could have spent that time drawing this so small flower,  drawing and putting color,  RED,  but instead,  i was looking at papers of words having nothing to do with anything, really

of all artists,  visionaries,  it's she that I revere.   I looked today and see that she has died.  2019…so in the last months.

i wrote about this before but it's a story to tell again.  When i was part owner of the bookstore,  part of my job was ordering and i would call her,  order prints and cards.  She wasn't one for small talk but she always greeted my call with Hello,  grace of the Ann Arbor.   When i got to New Mex one of the first things i did,  as soon as i could,  was to call her again.  I wanted to meet her.

she said yes.  A visit.  20 minutes.  All she allowed to enter her TIME.  She asked that i be prompt.  I was.  and appeared at her gate in the Bosque of Albuquerque.  She and 3 very large dogs met me,  let me in.  We walked through the trees to her door and in,  through her studio to an outside porch.  She had lemonaide.  glasses.  a small table and two chairs.  We sat and i began telling her how i was unsure of my art,  how i was a student of Nisargadatta,  and she cut me off.  "It won't work" she said.  "You are a woman."   and at that moment,  there was a comotion in her wood stove…she opened the door to it and one of her dogs rushed up and grabbed a bird that had fallen down the chimney,  her calling to the dog to drop it,  the dog running and we chased off after the dog and the dog did drop it but it was dead.  She carried it to one of the outside altars and laid it there.  We walked back and she kept walking,  back through the studio,  the 20 minutes being up,  and she closed the gate behind me,  standing there with her 3 large dogs.

this book has been in storage.

just so you don't over anticipate.  Spread out on a tarp.  Looking down,  from where the Diaries Cloth hangs on the fence.  No time today.  So…tomorrow.  The First Look.

legs,  arms.  a little of one foot.   Just this much.  To see if it feels right.  Still looking,  but i think so.

they came.  I was still at the Wall Garden giving water.    Otherwise,  i would not have known.  They chipped.  all the piles we had left along the little road.  and they were gone.  We had wondered if we put too much,  but really,  we could have put so much more.  But this much is good enough.  Better than it was.  and now we know.  a live and learn thing.

    then.

then Alyssia Emrie and i went to the storage place.  with the big truck.  The Old Cowboy's truck.  a lot of decisions were made.  We loaded said truck with KEEPS and left a lot behind for ELSEWHERE…those,  in the next few days will go to the Elsewhere.

we brought here,  to the space at B,    some Stuff.

I hesitate to even talk about it here.  But if i didn't,  it would somehow be against the premise of this Blog,  which is to Be what Is,  As Is.  and would feel dishonest.

    so.

over the next days,  i'll show you what i kept.  I hope it will make you smile    There were many feelings about the decisions of what to let go.   but once we got here and unloaded all the Keeps,  and after Alyssia and Emrie had gone,  I stood there,  next to the Magic Diaies Cloth hanging on the fence and

smiled.  nodded.  OK.  after all is said and done,  this is it.

Sometimes,  after i post things,  i fall asleep.  Wake a while later to go read what i've written.  Sometimes,  somehow,  by some kind of accident,  i trip off one of the things in the sidebar.  And it's always

    perfect

tonight,  KD Lang.  Hallelujah,   my girl crush,  KD,  and so much so,  Hallelujah it is.  go listen.  Especially if it is at night,  in the dark.

this is CareFree Way.  the "road" i live on.  sometimes things require a physical address.  This would be it.   The mailing address is a post office box in Oroville.  There's no mail delivery here.    This is physical.  Google maps can find it.  The forest service chipper trucks will find it by google maps.

    20190701_110052

all along CareFree way,  off Old Olive,  there are Coyote Bushes.  MANY.  They are flame retardant.  and now known to be the source of GREEN.   Right now too,  there's wild raspberry if you double click

while doing the work,  Alyssia accidentally  pulled a very young coyote bush.  I brought it up and cut it,  pieces of branches, stem and leaves.  In a pot,  boiled moments then outside into the copper pot with that Iron Something,  a horseshoe from the road,  bundled cotton, silk noile and linen.  I googled.  Does coyote bush have tannin   and got a great dye page.  Yes.  Coyote Bush DOES have a lot of tannin. Tannin.  mordant.  just overnight and through early morning….the green of this Hill.  Green.
